MINISTER MUSENERO ROOTS FOR HERBAL FACTORIES IN UGANDA

The minister of science, technology and innovation Monica Musenero has revealed that the government will start herbal factories as a way of improving herbal medicine.
Minister Musenero said this today 18th Jan.2022 at Rukararwe partnership for rural development during a two day training for herbalists.
Rukararwe a herbal medicinal Centre was started by late Ambassador Mwine Bitahwa in 1986 and has been Centre for medicine research since then.
Musenero noted that the coming of COVID 19 in 2019 opened eyes of Ugandans and scientists that herbal medicine can be treatment for all viruses and diseases in the world.
In attendance was a renowned herbalist and manufacturer of Covidex Prof. Ogwang who noted that Rukararwe and Karinju forest in Bushenyi were his source of herbs used to make the medicine.
Prof. Ogwang turned around the crisis of COVID19 by using his Covidex, made out of herbs to treat the deadly disease that started in China.
The senior presidential advisor on media and public relations Mary Karooro Okurut called for a moment of silence for the late Mwine Bitahwa who initiated Rukararwe and prayed that he continues to rest in peace because what he started will never be forgotten by people of Bushenyi.
She noted that her work is to connect service providers to the people of Bushenyi so that they can benefit.
