In Bushenyi—
One of the grandchildren of Yokana Bwisho, Emmanuel Kweyunga Kifaru has castigated the Bishop of West Ankole diocese Rt. Rev. Johnson Twinomujuni for neglecting their family after the late gave land to Keirere Church of Uganda.
Emmy Kweyunga is a popular businessman who deals in agricultural inputs through this company Keirere Green Africa Agency KEGRA.
Emmy said this openly at the burial of his grandfather Yokana Bwisho who died at the age of 101.
Kweyunga noted that his grandfather donated land where Keirere church of Uganda and school are built but the bishop refused to come and bury him with no reason.
He added that he lost his father Kifaru last year but the Bishop was also nowhere to be seen.
He revealed that had it not been for his grandfather’s love for the church, the two institutions; school and church would have been likely not built.
Among the mourners, there were archdeacon All saints church greater Bethel Namara, diocesan head of laity Willis Bashasha and many church leaders.
While responding to Kweyunga’s complaint, the archdeacon said that the bishop had gone for confirmation in the diocese therefore he was not in office to attend the burial.
Earlier, some Christians had accused the bishop of attending burials parties and other functions of the rich, leaving out the less privileged and the poor.
Another grandchild Isaiah Kifaru of URA called upon the entire family of Bwisho to remain united and work hard for development.
He read a poem in praise of his grandfather Yokana Bwisho in Runyankole which is uncommon among the elites to speak Runyankole plus reading documents written in their local language.
