ISINGIRO DISTRICT ENGINEER, TWO OTHERS HELD OVER SHODDY WORK

The Isingiro District Engineer and two others have been arrested by police over shoddy works at Rwamurunga community secondary school.
The arrested are Pamela Besigye the DRDIP Engineer, Robert Musinguzi the District Engineer, and Peter Turyamureeba Build Line Contract Company Engineer.
These were arrested yesterday during a district monitoring team led by the Chairperson LC V Alone Turahi, the Resident District Commissioner Adah Nasiima, and the District Internal Security Officer.
The Projects monitored are under Development Response to Displacement Impact Project (DRDIP) the Mbaare Water Project, Nyamuyanja Central Primary School and the Rwamurunga community secondary school.
The team found out that Rwamurunga community secondary school was abandoned by the contractor after he received 1.6 billion of the 2 billion shillings that were allocated to complete the project.
Adah Nasiima the Isingiro District Resident Commissioner said that despite all the projects being behind schedule the buildings have developed big cracks on the walls and ceiling.
She said that the project contractor of Nyamuyanja Central school was tasked to explain while Rwamurunga and Mbaare the engineers were arrested after failing to explain explain themselves.
Alone Turahi the district chairman said the Rwamurunga Community school project is 65% to completion and this was the second time they have been monitoring the same project however the resolutions made in the last monitoring were not worked on
