Bushenyi parents school has emerged second best in 2023 Bushenyi Ishaka municipal mock examinations that were released yesterday Aug. 22, 2023.
According to one the directors of the school, Mrs Enid Tugume, their school has 39 pupils in class and 27 pupils passed in grade one.
She noted that the above performance translates to 69.2% . The best school is St. kaggwa boarding primary school with 179 grade ones and with a percentage of 92.7%.
Mrs Enid Tugume told www.mknewslink.com editor that Bushenyi parents school has consistently done well during mocks and PLE for many years.
She added that big secondary schools like Ntare school, Mbarara HS, Mary hill high school, Bweranyangyi girls not forgetting Immaculate heart girls ss book their pupils before they finish PLE because they can’t be discontinued in any class due to poor academic performance.
She said that their former students are performing best in the above and other first world schools in Uganda. She noted that Bushenyi parents teaches pupils holistically.

Police in Kabale District are currently on the hunt for an unidentified driver who tragically struck and killed a 51-year-old pedestrian at Kyobugombe Trading Center along the Kabale-Mbarara highway.

The incident occurred at Kyobugombe Trading Center in Kabale district, with the driver abandoning the motor vehicle at the scene.

The victim, Kanyarutokye Johnson, aged 51, a resident of Kayorero village in Kaharo sub-county of Kabale district, lost his life instantly in the collision.

Elly Maate, the Kigezi Region police spokesperson, disclosed that the vehicle involved was a Mitsubishi Fuso with registration number UAN 393Z.

Maate shared that the accident took place at Kyobugombe Trading Center along the Kabale-Mbarara highway on August 22, 2023, at approximately 09:00 AM.

The scene was visited by Corporal Kambale and his team. The victim’s body was transported to the Kabale Regional Referral Hospital mortuary for a postmortem examination before being released to the family for burial arrangements.

Following the incident, the police, led by Corporal Kambale and his team, proceeded to the location. They retrieved and secured the motor vehicle with registration number UAN 393Z, which was parked at the Kabale Central Police station yard.

The vehicle will undergo inspection by the Inspector of Vehicles as inquiries are undertaken to ascertain the possible cause of the accident.

A case regarding the hit-and-run incident has been formally registered at the Kabale Central Police station under reference number TAR 86/2023.

The Mbarara Resident District Commissioner (RDC) ,Emmy Katera Turyabagyenyi has intervened in a rift between the district Chairman ,Didas Tabaro and Patrick Tumuhimbise Bigambwensi the mayor Bwizibwera-Rutooma Town council over work plan for five road projects in Bwizibwera-Rutooma Town council.

Didas Tabaro the district chairman and Patrick Tumuhimbise Bigambwensi the mayor Bwizibwera-Rutooma Town Council have been entangled in a cold war,after the district chairman suspended the grading of five roads in the town council over lack of value for money.

The roads include;Muhekyera road, Akashushano road,Kamparo road,Rwentojo-Bwongozya road and Akashenyi-mitooma road which were all valued at shs.43 million.

Speaking during a crisis meeting held at the district headquarters in Bwizibwera on Tuesday, Tabaro revealed that he intervened upon receiving complaints from a section of Town council councillors who were demanding the work plan for five road projects in the town council.

Tabaro further faulted the town council leadership for failure to invite the district leadership to launch the grading of the roads.

However in his remarks, Patrick Tumuhimbise Bigambwensi the mayor Bwizibwera-Rutooma Town Council attributed the fracas to lack of information flow between his office and the one of the district chairman.

In the meeting which was chaired by the RDC Emmy Turyabagyenyi ,it called for an extraordinary council meeting where Bwizibwera-Rutooma Town council councillors will review the work plans for the road projects.

The same meeting ,resolved to further suspend the grading of roads in the Town council in order to pave way for a special audit by the district internal auditor.

in Kisoro—

A 21-year-old Rwandan national, Igihoa Fabiyora, was sentenced to 10 months in jail due to her involvement in a series of thefts in Kisoro District.

Fabiyora, who resides in Nyakarekare village in the Southern Province of Ruhango District in the Republic of Rwanda, had been employed in Chanika town council in Kisoro District.

On August 15, 2023, she stole Ugx 106,000 from John Damaseni and Leo Batenda Buroro’s mobile smartphone. Subsequently, she was apprehended while attempting to leave Uganda for Rwanda.

During the court proceedings, Magistrate Grade One Dismas Muchelule confirmed Fabiyora’s Rwandan nationality and acknowledged her admission of guilt regarding the thefts. Given that it was her first time appearing in court for this matter, the proceedings were relatively swift. The magistrate handed down a 10-month prison sentence to Fabiyora, along with an order to repay the stolen Ugx 106,000 after serving her sentence.

Police in Isingiro District are investigating a case of kidnap and murder of Evaristo Turyasingura 47years a village chairperson for Rugarama cell in Kamubeizi Town Council.

According to SP Samson Kasasira,the Rwizi Regional Police Spokesperson, on Friday last week unknown person called the deceased inviting him to attend an MK project meeting at Igongo Hotel in Mbarara City before luring him with a transport allowance of shs.100,000 on his mobile money account on Saturday.

Kasasira noted that on Sunday at about 2100hrs the same people called the deceased to meet them at Keizinare stage along kikagate-Mbarara road where they were supposed to proceed for the said meeting.He said the deceased parked few clothes and proceeded to the stage on a boda boda ridden by his son Gideon Tuhirirwe.

He noted that on reaching the stage,the deceased found a waiting Toyota wish vehicle with number plates covered with MK project stickers which drove off so fast causing suspicion in the mind of the son(Gideon Tuhirirwe) which prompted him to contact the deceased’s phone and those that had invited him for a meeting but all in Vain.

Kasasira further revealed that the deceased’s body was discovered by residents on Monday at around 1730hrs at Kyamusoni mile 48 along kikagate-Kitwe road ,tied with ropes and marks of strangulation.

Kasasira said the body was retrieved and taken to Mbarara Regional Referral Hospital mortuary for postmortem as investigations into the matter take shape.
