2500 KIU GRADUANDS URGED TO TRANSFORM UGANDA

Over 2500 Kampala International University students/ graduands have
been urged to go and shape and change the face of Uganda with their
skills in their communities.

The Nigerian Ambassador to Uganda Etubom Nya Eyoma made the remarks
yesterday while officiating as chief guest at the 17th graduation ceremony
of over 2500 graduands at KIU main campus in Kasanga Kampala.
He said “as you get into the world work for equality and justice where
there is injustice and do what is right to change you communities and
the face of Uganda”
Eyoma urged the fresh graduates to follow their art/ profession and to
use it to better themselves and surroundings. To the continuing
students, he advised them to seek knowledge and work hard to finish
their studies. He congratulated the parents and the graduands and said
they were happy that their sacrifice had paid off.
He pledged continuous support of the Nigerian Government to Uganda and
KIU in particular to further cement the cooperation and galvanize the
achievements so far made in the education sector.
“We will give assistance as it will be required in future just as we
have always done” he stated.
Over 30 students graduated with fast class degrees. 20 percent of the
graduands are foreigners. The chairman board of trustees Haji Hassan
Bassajjabalaba re-echoed the KIUs vision of pursuing to become the
premier institution of International repute that prepares students
for the world and for an inclusive society.
The Vice chancellor Dr. Mouhamad Mpezamihigo said KIU is focused on
enhancing its already excellent environment that fosters the growth
of research, innovation, and entrepreneurship. He said they have made
strategic partnerships to achieve this goal. About 40 percent of the
total number of graduands were female.
Some gradaunds were
awarded doctorates, others degrees and diplomas.
