Releasing the report at his office yesterday morning, the deputy district traffic officer sergeant Jimmy Embati, described 29 cases as fatal 48 serious and 27 minor. In these 30 lives were lost, and there were 83 injuries.
However Embati in his comparison noted that there has been reduction in cases of Road accidents in 2018 compared to 2017. 2018 registered 94 accidents while in 2017 they were 144. He attributed the accidents to the element of human error.
Embati however said in order to curb those accidents they have come up with a number of measures like checking the vehicles whether they are in good mechanical conditions and also motorcycles.
He encouraged all drivers and riders and whoever is intending to ride or drive to go to driving school so as to cub such issues.
