98 YEAR OLD WOMAN STRANGLED OVER ELDERLY GRANT IN KISORO

Residents of Nyagatembe Village, Muhindura Parish in Kanaba Sub County Kisoro District were on Tuesday shocked after the mysterious death of a fellow resident Bernadette Nyiramakuba.
Nyiramakuba 98 was found sleeping lifeless in her living room on Tuesday morning April 27th 2021.
The area Bataka Twezikye Chairman Gabriel Nsekambizi says he was shocked after hearing news of Nyiramakuba’s sudden death having seen her at the Nyagatembe elderly association meeting on Monday.
Nsekambizi reveals that the deceased’s family members denied him access to Nyiramakuba’s body raising suspicion on what could have killed her.
Ms Rose Nyirabirikano the Chairperson of Nyagatembe Women Group told the press that after receiving the heart breaking news that one of her group members had passed on, she rushed to her home to confirm but she was also denied access to the body.
Nyirabirikano narrated to our reporter that they were together with the deceased on Monday in the Women’s group meeting two days after receiving Elderly Grant cash of UGX 125,000.
Anonymous sources are suspicious that Nyiramakuba could have been strangled to death by the yet to be identified criminals with an aim of taking away her money.
A son who only identified himself as Zagazaga told our reporter off record that on Monday at around midnight as he came from his daily duties, he found his mother’s house Lights off and entered to check on her but she was unfortunately in an abnormal situation.
According to Zagazaga, it didn’t take long before his mother breathed her last breathe.
By press time residents were preparing to bury the deceased before the Police could arrive at the scene.
