BUILDING COLLAPSES ON PEOPLE, 20 RUSHED TO HOSPITAL IN CRITICAL CONDITION

20 People from Kashangura Ward in Ibanda Municipality were yesterday evening rushed to Ibanda Hospital in critical conditions after a school building collapsed on them.
According to eye witnesses, over 50 people who had turned for measles and Rubella immunization at Rwengwe Nursery and Primary School Play Ground in Kashangura ward Kagongo Division went into the school building during the heavy downpour but unfortunately it collapsed and fell on them.
Eye witnesses told www.mknewslink.com that some medical personnel from Ibanda Hospital and some residents were injured and rushed to the hospital in critical conditions.
Nathan Mujuni the secretary LC1 Rwengwe Cell said that the
village chairperson LC1 Mugabirwe John is also among the critically
injured people and was also rushed to Ibanda Hospital.
While awaiting official rescue efforts, many locals and those that
were passing by began their own attempts to free people from the
wreckage, using their bare hands to shift slabs of concrete.
No death has been reported but all patients are still admitted.
