TWO KILLED ON SPOT , 4 INJURED IN RUKIGA ACCIDENT

Two people were yesterday killed and four others critically injured in an accident that occurred at Kanyabugunga village, Kafunjo Parish, Kashambya Sub County in Rukiga district along Muhanga Kisizi road.
The accident occurred on Wednesday evening March 24th at around 5 pm when a motor vehicle registration number UEW 086 S Fuso Fighter that was carrying cabbages veered off the road after colliding with another motor vehicle reg. number UAR 043 Q Corona.
The deceased were identified as Gilbert Basheija aged 38 and Amon Atuheire, 26, all residents of Kyobugombe in Kaharo sub county Kabale district.
According to Denis Niwabaine Njonjo, an eye witness, the two people who died on spot were sitting on top of the cabbages while their four colleagues whose identities are not yet known were rushed to Kisizi hospital Rukungiri district in critical condition.
Niwabaine told this www.mknewslink.com reporter that after the accident, the driver of Fuso fighter took off into hiding.
He also said that no one was injured in motor vehicle registration number UAR043Q Corona.
He blamed the accident on the Fuso driver who was driving on a high speed.
The Rukiga District Police Commander, Aggrey Okumu confirmed the death of two and added that he will give details after compiling the details.
He however added that they have launched investigations to the cause of the accident.
