Care Promotions and Poverty Alleviation Initiative (CPAI) an NGO in partnership with Agromush Uganda wants to skill single mothers and girls from Rugarama Sheema district to enable them enough their own income.
The organization which was recently launched in Sheema district aims at skilling school drop outs and single mothers with skills of making wine, petroleum jelly, papers, reusable pads among others using crops growing at home.
Eunice Mwebaze one of the directors advised ladies to welcome the skills then work hard to get their own money and stop depending on others.
She added that when a girl child is skilled in a field, he will be able to get her own money therefore she will not be attempted to get sugar daddies or get married when she is still young.
She also urged parents to support girl child education to prevent early marriages, or even abortions because of misbehaving men whom she termed as ‘hunger lions.’
The guest of honour Abert Kamuntu promised to support the girls and donated Reusable pads adding that he will be available just in case they need his help.
The chairperson CPAI Praise Nowamani urged ladies to be patient and learn how to manage small business.
