NORTHWEST ANKOLE, NORTH ANKOLE, EAST RUWENZORI DIOCESES SIGN MOU TO FIGHT POVERTY AMONG FOLLOWERS

Three dioceses of Northwest Ankole, East Ruwenzori and the North
Ankole have signined a memorandum of understanding to fight against poverty through changing the mindset of individuals towards a positive change in the economy.
The three operate in an agricultural zone and will focus on
sensitizing farmers to do away with subsistence farming to
commercial farming.
These are now under the umbrella of ERNANWA and had a joint meeting at the St. Paul cathedral of Northwest Ankole diocese.
According to Bishop Amos Magezi, the chairperson of the ERNANWA, the church realised that many have continued stay in poverty especially Ankole region yet the region is blessed with fertile land and
resorted to joining hands to sensitize the public.
Each diocese was represented by ten delegates in a meeting led by
their Bishops and by the end of the joint meeting each delegate signed
a memorandum of understanding as an indicator that he or she will participate in the campaign according to Bishop George Turyasingura of East Ruwenzori Diocese
These also had partners of the Prosper Mama Africa directed by David
Kawesa who says that the region of Ankole has 11% of the people who
live under the poverty lines and their working in hand is a blessing
in transforming the Ugandan society.
