CONGOLESE DRIVER COLLAPSES IN RUKIGA, DIES ON SPOT

Police in Rukiga are investigating circumstances surrounding the collapse and death of a Congolese truck driver in his 70s.
The deceased on Friday evening collapsed and died instantly in Kakatunda trading Center, along Kabale-Mbarara highway in Muhanga town Council, Rukiga District.
Kigezi Region police Spokesperson Elly Maate has identified the deceased as Mayari Matayo Mbusa a Congolese national and driver of a trailer reg. no 1869AA/19-1870AA/19
Maate said that the deceased was transporting fuel from Kenya through Busia to Goma with his turn man Emmanuel Magaviro Kambale 27 yrs.
Magaviro told police that the deceased who was on blood pressure medication felt sick in the middle of their journey and the turn man would drive as he gained some relief.
Maate narrated to www.mknewslink.com reporter that as the two parked at Kakatunda trading Center, along Kabale-Mbarara highway in Muhanga town Council, Rukiga District, the deceased collapsed and died instantly.
The body was taken to Kabale referral hospital mortuary for postmortem while the Trailer is being guarded at Bukinda since it’s still loaded with fuel.
