Dr. Patrick Baguma the District Health Officer Masindi has threatened to temporary close a Community Medical Centre in Masindi town over death of two maternal mothers in a space of one week.
The health expert told the Masindi district task force members this afternoon that the delay to refer the mothers to the Masindi district general hospital was the main cause of their death.
“They didn’t refer them in time, in fact they were delayed thus passing on at the arrival at the Masindi district general hospital,” Dr. Baguma said.
Dr. John Turyagumanawe the Bunyoro region COVID 19 response coordinator applauded the step taken by the district health officer on the closure of Community Medical Centre Masindi.
Dr. Leonard Kadima the Director Community Medical Centre Masindi told our reporter that the mother who passed on was brought in critical condition, and he immediately referred her to Masindi district general hospital where she passed on her arrival.
“I didn’t delay her, since I don’t have a theatre, I referred her immediately to Masindi district general hospital where she passed on the arrival,” he said.
Dr. Kadima who is the head of Female Ward at Masindi district general hospital revealed that they have internal conflicts with the district health officer, but he is going to sit and file his documents defending his business from being closed.
