MBARARA POLICE IMPOUND 100 MOTORCYCLES FOR OPERATING PAST CURFEW

Police in Mbarara city have impounded 100 motorcycles for Operating beyond curfew time.
Lt. Col. James Mwesigye the Mbarara city, Resident City Commissioner told Journalists today in a press briefing at his office in Booma cell, Kamukuzi Division in Mbarara city that police in collaboration with UPDF had an operation last night which saw over 100 motorcycles impounded.
Mwesigye noted that operations intended to arrest those violating COVID 19 SOP’S are still on and warned those contravening curfew guidelines to desist from the habit or risk being apprehended.
The RCC stated that due to the public relaxation Mbarara city has had numbers of COVID 19 infections shoot high.
He added that as of today Mbarara regional referral hospital has 14 COVID 19 cases on admission at the hospital’s COVID 19 Isolation Unit.
The RCC said that as security teams they have ensured daily deployments of both casual and uniform errant officers to curb crime though they are still criminals terrorizing people who will be apprehended.
