27 YEAR OLD MURDERED IN RUKIGA DISTRICT

The Police in Rukiga district are investigating circumstances under which a 27 year old man was murdered.

Kigezi Regional Police Spokesman Elly Maate identified the deceased as Anthony Niwasasira a resident of Nyakabungo cell Nyakasiru Parish in Bukinda Sub County in Rukiga district.

Maate told journalists on Tuesday that the deceased was last seen on Sunday evening drinking from a certain bar in Nyakasiru Trading Centre and there after he picked a quarrel with one Boaz who was also drinking from the same bar over a woman.
Its reported that later the two were cooled down and they went on with drinking after which both left the bar and took different directions.

Maate explained that on Monday evening, the deceased was discovered lying in a trench by a resident identified as Pamela who informed the LC 1 chairperson of the area Gadi Byaruhanga.

Byaruhanga rushed to the scene and confirmed the incident, he then informed the area Police which notified Rukiga Central Police Station and the homecide team visited by the scene and processed, postmortem was done but suspects have been suspect arrested.

Maate said that a case of murder was registered at Rukiga Central Police Station under reference number CRB 344/2022 to help in further investigations
