Election petition in the LCV chairmanship where Dr. Phillip Panadol took to court Deo Atuhaire Omuhatizi challenging his election win in Feb. 2026 local council elections.
In court today 16th Sept.2026 presided over by Justice Mary Ikit at Bushenyi high court, lawyers of Deo Atuhaire omuhatizi led by Hon. Cohen Amanya Kyampane and senior counsel Paul Tusubira assured the judge that lawyers of Dr. Phillip Panadol were using framiousy excuses to delay the case.
Today’s hearing was mainly to agree on what to handle in the main petition that will be heard soonest.
The lawyers of Dr. Phillip Panadol raised an issue to court that electoral commission of Buhweju should avail declaration forms of direct elected councilors to compare in court Chairman Deo’s win results with those of councilors.
As we publish this story, the high court is now making a ruling on whether the mentioned declaration forms should be brought to court or not.
The led counsel of Deo Atuhaire’s legal team also MP fo Igara west told journalists immediately after court that Dr. Phillip Panadol’s case is useless case that his wasting their time and according to Kyampene, without prejudice Deo will win the case.
However, Dr. Panadols told www.mknewslink.com that they have enough evidence for court to cancel Deo’s win. He added that they have 30 witnesses to prove that Deo’s win should be cancelled.
