MP KAMARA ATTACKS KABALE MUNICIPAL AUTHORITIES OVER IDLE ULTRA SOUND SCAN

The Kabale Municipality Member of Parliament Hon Dr Nicholas Thaddeus Kamara has castigated Kabale Municipal authorities over the transfer of the Midwife he had trained to operate the Ultrasound scan at Kamukyira health center IV leaving the equipment lying idle.
On 14th October 2021, Hon Dr Nicholas Thadeus Kamara donated the 12million shillings Ultrasound scan to Kamukyira Health center IV in kirigime ward southern Division Kabale Municipality.
This was shortly after he paid shillings 5 million to facilitate the training of a midwife who would be in charge of operating the donated scan.
Addressing Journalists at Capricorn Hotel, the Kabale municipality MP said that it’s unfortunate that the scan is lying Idle at the facility yet expectant mothers need its services.
Kamara added that the Midwife who was trained to operate the machine was transferred to Rutoma health center II in Northern Division where there are no deliveries.
He added that he had decided not to donate another scan following what happened to the first.
Kamara explained to journalists that he tried to inquire about the midwifes transfer from the Kabale Municipal mayor and the town clerk and got no response and he later approached the said Midwife, but he was shocked when she openly told him that she had requested for a transfer to enable her get a promotion.
He noted that he had ditched plans of buying an ambulance for Kamukyira health center IV after the facility failed to handle a 12 million ultra-scan.
He apologized to the people accessing services at Kamukyira health center IV and promised to keep lobbying for the midwife trained to operate the ultra sound scan brought back to the facility
