STOP HARRASSING OPPOSITION- BESIGYE TO GOVERNMENT
BY mknewslink REPORTER
IN MBARARA———–
Besigye asked government operatives to stop harassing opposition if they won elections legitimately.
Dr. Kizza Besigye while addressing journalists at Grand holiday hotel in Mbarara on Saturday, before proceeding to Bushenyi, Rukungiri, and Kabale districts for the first time since he was released from Luzira last Tuesday.
Dr. Besigye accused government officials for misusing government offices to frustrate the opposition members and suffocating their pockets to live in absolute poverty.
“I myself has spent all my money I have worked and even wasted my time to and from court after several arrests against me of which the NRM people are proud of; then you wish to be led by such people aiming at weakening Ugandans” Dr. Besigye noted
Besigye said he will not give up and that he will continue fighting until leadership of Uganda is stable.
“Iam not worried about all these cases because I have never committed any offence, am a law abiding citizen and if the intention is that these cases will weaken or break me down, that is the biggest joke they can have on themselves; because I will never be weakened as a result of harassment, in fact when they put me in cells and I come out, I come out when Iam strong and even more determined” he said
Besigye said that opposition shall continue fighting for people’s authority in Uganda.
“We shall continue struggling until Uganda is free and the people of Uganda have power and leaders assume their rightful role as servants not masters of our country and that our resources are used for the benefits of owners of this country so that this shameful condition in which our people live is punished once and for all” Besigye charged
Besigye and the group headed to Bushenyi and later proceeded to his home district Rukungiri attending a thanks giving service at Christ the King Church after his acquittal on bail against the charges of treason at Nakawa court.
Besigye and lord mayor Lukwago, Mubarak Munyagwa, Ingrid Turinawe, hon. Roland Kaginda and others were read their case of inciting violence at Kabale high court yesterday.
However Besigye with his convey were intercepted on their way and they hide themselves from police along Mbarara Bypass.
