PARENTAL CARE P/S BUSHENYI DEFEATS UGANDAN SCHOOLS 4TH TIME IN DABATE, SPEECH CHAMPIONSHIP

There was excitement among the Pupils of Parental Care Nursery and Primary in Bushenyi District and Students of Ntare School in Mbarara city as both schools won the National Speech and Debate Championship for primary and secondary categories.
The 12th National Speech and Debate Championship 2024 for both Primary and secondary schools was held at King’s College Buddo’s main auditorium in Wakiso District.
The finals saw Parental Care Nursery and Primary School Bushenyi win their fourth national junior speech and debate championship after Mbarara municipal school from Mbarara city and this year’s win was the third national title for Ntare School.
“I want thank the kids they really prepared for this day and the school for always supporting us, winning four in a roll is not simple we must double our efforts because many will be targeting us in the near future” said Mr Desmond Tayebwa the debate patron at Parental Care Nursery and Primary school Bushenyi.
He said team work, dedication, hard work and believing in Jesus for blessings, teachers who are very competent and hungry for results are some of the core principles of their success saying competing at that level deserves a lot of commitment.
The win by Parental Care and Nursery Primary School Bushenyi in the junior category was sparked off by skills of serious debate on the future of learning, where the School stood firm in their belief in the power of stem of education.
On the other side to win the competition, Ntare School from Mbarara city beat Holy Cross Lake View from Jinja to join an exclusive club of winners.
This year’s championship was under the theme Transparency, Accountability and Anti Corruption in commemoration of International Anti corruption day with an aim of creating awareness on how corruption has changed society values to worse.
The western region was represented by a number of both Primary and secondary schools and these schools include Parental Care Primary School Bushenyi in the Primary, Mbarara municipal School, Banya Tereza from Fort Portal in junior category.
Others are Ntare School, Mary Hill, and Immaculate Heart Nyakibare in Rukungiri District in secondary school category
About Parental Care Primary School Bushenyi:
Parental care and Nursery school Bushenyi located in Bushenyi town started in 1988 as a nursery school and it graduated over the years and breaking its own records in a number of competitions, in 2023 the school represented Uganda in the all African spelling Bee competition in Blantyre Malawi.
In 2023 the school was the winner of Pan African Primary schools debating and Public speaking in Nairobi Kenya.
