4 ARRESTED OVER MURDER OF COLLEAGUE IN KABALE

The suspects identified as Tindiwegyi Jackline, 50, and Mathias Mashemeeerwa, 28, both residents of Kyondo Village. Two other suspects, whose names have been withheld to avoid jeopardizing investigations, are also being questioned.

Kigezi Region police spokesperson Elly Maate told journalists that the incident occurred on December 15, 2024, at about 8:00 PM in Kyondo Village.

It is alleged that Tindiwegyi Jackline and others, still at large, got into a dispute with the deceased over unknown issues, leading to a physical altercation. During the fight, the deceased was reportedly struck on the head with a blunt object, resulting in his immediate death.

Residents who witnessed the incident informed the area Officer in Charge (OC), who then alerted the District CID officer. A police team responded promptly, visiting and documenting the crime scene.

The body was retrieved and taken to Kabale Regional Referral Hospital mortuary for a postmortem examination. Statements have been recorded from witnesses, and investigations are ongoing.
