National Resistance Movement [NRM] leaders are confident that the party is still unbeatable in the Greater Bushenyi Area despite the increased criticism.
According to the Bushenyi NRM Administrative Secretary Mr.Gilbert Rukooko, NRM won Local council one seats with 74.5% in Bushenyi district with 423 chairpersons, Independent 137, FDC 08, Uganda Federal Alliance 1 and UPC 1 out of 571 villages.
Rukooko told this reporter on Tuesday at NRM offices while showing statistics in the recently concluded local council one election.
He also noted that even in the women elections where their party won 460 [80.6%] seats, independent 09 seats [19.1%], while FDC got 02 seats [0.4%], portrays that there is still hope for them to perform better at the Local council two level.
Rukooko’s adds his voice to the top party leadership the party chairman President Yoweri Museveni who praised Ugandans for rejecting the opposition and massively voting NRM candidates.
Museveni, returned on Saturday to social media with statistics showing how the ruling party swept both the women and LCI chairperson polls
Despite the overwhelming winning percentage, NRM met stiff competition especially from opposition and independents.
