AMBULANCE ROTS AT MASINDI HOSPITAL

A Government ambulance registration number LG 0178-29 is rotting at Bwijanga Health Centre IV in Bujenje County Masindi district.
The ambulance which is attached to the office of the district health officer has been parked at the entrance of hospital for close to one year due to mechanical problem.
Speaking on Tuesday at the launch of partial rehabilitation of outpatient department at Bwijanga Health Centre IV, Cosmas Byaruhanga the Masindi district chairperson tasked the district engineer, in-charge and the acting district health officer to either sell the ambulance, repair or tower it to Masindi district headquarter parking yard.
”We came here talking about that ambulance, district engineer, we don’t need that ambulance here, if you can’t repair, sell it or tower it to the district headquarter parking yard,” he said.
Byaruhanga said that the ambulance was abandoned due to mechanical problems, and they don’t need it at Bwijanga Health Centre IV premises because it’s a shaming them noting that if they can’t repair it, they should tower and dump it at the district headquarters.
Dr. Jino Abiriga the acting district health officer Masindi pledged to tower the Ambulance to the district headquarter parking yard within a space of one week.
Masindi district general hospital has one functioning ambulance; three donated by the district Members of Parliament including Joab Businge the Municipal Member of Parliament, Florence Asiimwe the district Woman Member of Parliament and the one donated by Buruli County Member of Parliament.
Hon. Kenneth Kiiza Nyendwoha the Bujenje County Member of Parliament donated three emergency vehicles to boost the evacuation of patients from his constituency to the district for better health services.
