The former Rukiga county parliamentary hopeful, Laston Besigye, has called upon parents to take care of their children during the festive season.
According to the Besigye , he attributed cases of teenage pregnancy to parents who had failed to play their roles in the family.
Laston Besigye adds that some men spend more time in bars than with their children, which the young boys take as an advantage to spoil the young girls.
Besigye showed concern over how young girls get attracted to cheap gifts bought for them by men and end up giving in their bodies.
“Education is the key to success.” Besigye advised young girls to be zealous in their determination.
He further urged parents to take their children to affordable schools where they could manage the tuition and avoid selling their land to educate the children.
Besigye said that it’s so unfortunate that some parents take their children to the most expensive schools and find them without anything to sell other than the only piece of land at home. He urged the public to use the opportunity of the parish development model to elevate poverty among themselves
