Youth Livelihood officials have been urged not to only focus on recovering money given to youth groups, but to also assess the impact created.
The call was sounded by the Mbarara district deputy Resident district commissioner, Emmy Katera Turyabagyenyi while speaking to our reporter.
Youth livelihood is a revolving fund from the government, established in 2013, with the aim of getting youth out of poverty, by giving them starting capital, through organized groups.
According to Dianah Naturinda, the Youth Livelihood communications officer, since the program started, over 200,000 youths have benefited from the program.
However, according to Kateera, there is a need for more supervision by the program management to ensure that the funds create an intended impact of bailing youths out of Poverty, desist from corrupt tendencies.
