The outgoing bishop of Kigezi diocese Rt. Rev. Geroge Bagamuhunda has bid farewell to Uganda Christian University Bishop Barham College.
The Bishop who has been doubling as the Bishop Barham University College governing Council Chairperson since 2014 has partially vacated the chairmanship position ahead of his retirement.
Rt. Rev. Bagamuhunda who has been sitting on Uganda Christian university council since May 2010 up to May 2022 is set to retire on Friday this week and he has been serving as a probation Secretary of the Church of Uganda.
He became a member of Uganda Christian University U.C.U when he started teaching at the same university in January 1983 and after became the Tutor at the same time a bursar 1989 after attaining a Bachelor’s degree in Divinity
Bagamuhunda told the students that when he was young and school, he would stand at the main Gate of BISHOP BARHAM UNIVERSITY COLLEGE and listen to students as they sung in church.
He said this on 24th May, 2022 at Bishop Barham University College Rugarama Hill main Hall during his visit at the institution.
Dr. Aaron Mushengyezi the Uganda Christian University Vice Chancellor who minced the function said that the bishop has done so much in adding value to the institution and Kigezi Diocese.
“We do have leaders who come and leave an institution the way they found it or worse than they found it. Bishop, you are not among those. You have added value and your projects can speak for themselves,” Mushengyezi said.
At the same event, the college unveiled the new principal and the college governing council that are yet to replace Aggrey Oyesigomwe who is expected to hand over office at the end of this month
Aggery Oyesigomwe narrated that bishop has strengthened ways of improving business and service delivery in a much more efficient to address returns on investment
