Christians have been cautioned against the increasing rate of prostitution in Uganda which is affecting the moral degradation of the society.
The Bishop of West Ankole Yonah Katonene said many girls are becoming slaves of prostitution at younger age which he says is increasing the rate of HIV spread among Ugandans.
Bishop Katonene made these remarks while inaugurating All Saints Church of Uganda Ishaka urban archdeaconry at Katungu hill Ishaka division where he cited the big number of prostitutes in Kizinda trading center calling upon leaders to rectify the situation before many young girls join the band wagon of illicit trade.
Katonene expressed concern over the increase in people engaging in witchcraft as people are shunning away Christianity and being taken by Satan there by calling upon religious people to work hard and defeat the devils work.
The function which was graced by many dignitaries such as politicians, clergy Christians saw Rev. Canon Steven Asingwire consecrated as the Archdeacon of the church and over 90 Christians were confirmed into the kingdom of God.
