In Masindi—
William Mwambu the male district councilor representing people with disabilities (PWD’s) is among the six councilors who are vying for the seat of Masindi district speaker.
Speaking to www.mknewslink.com reporter yesterday afternoon, Mwambu said his intension(s) to vie for the seat is to improve on the welfare of the councilors for better service, improve on information sharing in the district, effective deliberation and presentation of council leaders, increase on the visibility of councilors in promotion of rules of role.
Mwambu who is the chairperson for social service committee council has hit back at his opponents who are decampaigning him because of his blindness to know that he has extraordinary skills of identifying someone who wants to discuss.
“Am a teacher by profession, and have ever taught, shared social service committee council meeting, and it’s the way I will chair the council meetings,” Mwambu noted.
Mwambu who was suspended from the council meetings three times in 2019 has revealed it was so because of his truth. He is also blaming the incumbent speaker for lack of experience in the office.
Other councilors who are vying for the Masindi district speakership seat are, Pamela Nyakato woman councilor representing Bwijanga, Bikonzi and Bulima to the district, Moses Kirya (incumbent) direct councilor representing Karujubu division to district, Patrick Timbagamba councilor representing Miirya sub county to district, Goodman Farouk direct councilor representing Nyangahya Division to district.
