Kyadondo East Member of Parliament Robert Kyagulanyi Sentamu (Bobi Wine) has expressed his ambition to challenge President Yoweri Museveni in the 2021 Presidential elections.
Bobi Wine revealed that he is seriously considering running for the highest office, during an interview with CNNs Robyn Curnow
The Singer and politician is in the Unites States, following his trip to Jamaica where he performed at a music concert.
We want to have many Ugandans registered as voters, and overwhelming Museveni looks like our only way out, he said.
Many people have come to me calling for me to stand; we have been discussing this issue with my team, and I must say, me and my team are seriously considering challenging Museveni in the next presidential election.
Although Bobi Wine hadnot yet to openly declare his presidential ambitions, in the past months, following his brutal arrest in the Arua election violence, hes been throwing hints.
At a recent funeral, which was attended Security Minister Gen Elly Tumwiine, the 36 year old told him to go tell the president Museveni that we are interested in his seat.
During his trip abroad, Bobi Wine met with the Jamaican leader Andrew Michael Holness, the head of the leader of the Civil Rights Movement in the United States, Rev Jesse Jackson Sr and US Congressman Brad Sherman.
