The Resident District Commissioner for Bundibugyo district Grace Kakweza has accused the Bundibugyo police for mismanaging people’s cases by making the files disappear mysteriously.
Kakwezi was speaking during an Anti corruption convention 2019 organized by the Rwenzori Anti corruption coalition held at gardens restaurant Fort portal.
He said that many have been complaining about police in Bundibugyo whereby they report their cases and their files get lost.
The RDC cited the recent corruption cases filed by the state house anti corruption unit that was headed by the state minister ethics and integrity Fr.Simon Lokodo implicating the district production officer, the school head teachers and the former town clerk of corruption and their files were mismanaged without being sanctioned to court.
Speaking as the chief guest Fr.Simon Lokodo stated that corruption in Uganda is being promoted by the citizens who should be fighting it.
Fr. Lokodo stated that the government is coming out with a strict law to pin corrupt officials because the current law is protecting the corrupt officials.
According to the Rwenzori Anti corruption coalition Angela Byangwa, they have received 1380 since the beginning of the 2019 in the region.
Bundibugyo has the highest number of corruption cases with 323 compared to other districts in the region.
