BUSHENYI COVID 19 PATIENT KEEPS IT SECRET, STAYS WITH OVER TEN FAMILY MEMBERS FOR 14 DAYS

Bushenyi RDC, Municipal Officials were yesterday stunned by a COVID 19 positive patient who contracted the disease and never told members of the family.
The RDC and team were monitoring COVID 19 task forces from LC1 and home best care; home best care refers to when a COVID 19 patient is managed at his/her home until he cures.
According to the RDC Jane Muhindo, they were stunned to learn that the COVID 19 patient stayed with the rest of the family members for 14 days without telling them that he was positive.
The RDC and her team met the affected patient in Kitembe East Cell, Kitembe ward, Bushenyi-Ishaka Municipality and he confirmed that he tested positive for the virus on 4th, August, 2021, tested again on 18th, August and it turned out negative.
The victim Saba Tumuhereza said that after testing positive at Bushenyi Health Center IV, he went home and stayed in boys’ quarters for two weeks but never told any of the family members.
Tumuhereza 36 years said he committed the offence for the fear of being looked at as an outcast and a laughing stalk in the village.
The RDC opted to taste the whole family because Tumuhereze could have infected them with COVID 19
The RDC warned Tumuhereze that it was very dangerous for him to keep quiet about his COVID 19 positive status because he was going to infect the entire family and warned him never to do it again in case he tests positive again.
The RDC’s team visited Bushenyi Health Center IV’s lab to establish its capacity for Covid 19 and the general functioning of health center IV towards Covid 19.
The team also visited central division headquarters and central division town clerk on Covid 19 interventions.
The team also visited Bushenyi Central Market to assist how they are observing sops and the traders asked the RDC’s team to provide them with piped water tap to be able to fight the pandemic.
