Bushenyi District Commercial Officer David Byamukama Livy wants SACCOs, banks and Insurance companies to embrace digital system of banking.
Digital banking services are banking services that are offered to a customer on their internet-enabled computer, smartphone or tablet. This form of consumer banking is far better than actually visiting a bank.
Byamukama urged that digital banking is currently the way to go since it makes every bank transaction easier; withdrawing, depositing, getting loans and paying them back.
He was today speaking to Greater Bushenyi SACCOs managers and chairpersons in an engagement meeting organized at Bushenyi multipurpose hall by Stanbic bank in partnership with Liberty Life Insurance.
The meeting which aimed at introducing a new product for SACCOs, educating participant on how to save and secure their SACCO assets was coordinated by Byamukama David Livy, Bushenyi District commercial Officer, Ian Luke Namara, head of Cooperate Liberty Life Insurance (Mbarara branch.
Other facilitators were Richard Kasozi manager Stanbic Ishaka branch, Innocent Mwijukye, Agency bank, Patrick Twinamatsiko (head of cooperatives, Stanbic bank Western region).
Different Sacco managers and chairpersons who attended were; Rev. Arthur Atwiine (manager Igara West Sacco), Atukunda Christine (manager Kyamuhunga People’s Sacco), Ahimbisibwe Steven, (Chairman Kambuzi Farmers Sacco,),Nuwagira Medard (Mitooma United Sacco), among other participants.
Meanwhile, Kasozi Richard, the manager Stanbic bank Ishaka branch, called upon the participants to always deal with right people when accessing and paying back loans.
He promised to improve the training of their agents in different areas and assured money lenders that the structure of the loan will always depend on the type of activity.
