BUSHENYI HAS THE HIGHEST PREVALENCE OF HIV IN UGANDA AT 8%, FORCES GOVERNMENT TO CELEBRATE WORLD AIDS DAY IN THE DISTRICT

What worries everyone in Uganda and a broad is the fact that Bushenyi District has the highest prevalence of HIV infections at 8% whereas the national prevalence is at 4.9%.
What will worsen the situation, is the issue of US president Trump’s decision to withdraw all funding to all developing countries including Uganda by closing USAID and other organizations.
The above came to light in a press briefing held at the RDC’s office in Bushenyi as one way of drumming up support for the world AIDS day that will celebrated in Kizinda-Kigoma town council on 1, Dec 2025.
The president of the republic of Uganda Yoweri Museveni by now is still expected as the chief guest at function.
The following 2, Dec 2025, president Museveni will hold campaigns at the same venue Kizinda Play ground that is surrounded by the most affected area by HIV/AIDS.
The presser was addressed by Jafari Basajjabalaba the Bushenyi district chairman, RDC Emmy Ngabirano and Stephen Twinomugisha the District Health Officer.
The most affected parts in Bushenyi include; Kizinda town council, Butare trading center, Kashanda and Rwentuuha among others.
