BUSHENYI: JAPANESE FUNDED 6 YEAR OLD REDUNDANT THEATER NOW OPERATIONAL, STARTS WITH 2 SETS OF TWINS

An operating theatre which was constructed at Bushenyi health Centre IV with funding from Japanese Embassy in Uganda started operating on Saturday14th, Aug, 2021 after 6 years.

According to Bushenyi Health Centre IV acting in charge of five (5) women have so far been operated including two sets of twins.

Dr. Yekka Peter, 41 explained the operation of this theater during an interview with www.mknewslink.com journalists on Tuesday 17, Aug, 2021 at the health facility grounds.

Dr. Yekka explained that construction started in 2014 and the theater was handed over by the Japanese to Bushenyi municipal council in September 2015 but it had since never worked until 14, August, 2021.

He added that so far two sets of twins were delivered out of five deliveries. The twins were delivered on Sunday at the space of two hours and neither of the mothers or children got any complications.

Moreen Ainomugisha a wife to Mujuni Laban residents of Kyakabizi cell, ward 11 Bushenyi- Ishaka Municipality and a mother of twins stressed her great feelings after delivering free babies without any complication and were not charged any money for operation.

“I went for scanning and radiographer told me I had twins in my womb and after three days I was happy to deliver my babies through caesarean section,” Ainomugisha said.

Mujuni (husband) explained how giving birth to twins is not easy due to a lot of expenses incurred in caring and bringing up these babies.

Dr. Yekka called upon expectant mothers in Bushenyi and outside the district to come for caesarean section at healthy Centre IV because whatever it takes is available at the facility.

Dr. Yekka hailed the newly elected municipal council mayor Richard Byaruhanga Katerane for coming in full swing to help the facility. He noted that had it not been the mayor, the theater would be not operational.

The Japanese in Uganda and its government have been very angry with municipal council for failing to operationalize the theatre for now six years since its completion.

Dr. Yekka said that USAID rites South West will provide the following” blood bank fridge, big sterilizer, bed warmer, bigger operating lights.

WHERE WILL BUSHENYI HEALTH CENTRE IV BE IN NEXT THREE YEARS AS WELL AS DOCTOR PETER YEKKA?

Bushenyi health center IV will be a hospital in next years, it will be operating other diseases because it is strategically positioned on highway and in the middle municipality, according to the doctor.

Dr. Yekka will go for masters one year from now and he wants to leave a mark that will keep moving in the skies.
