BUSHENYI WOMEN ARRESTED FOR STEALING LIVELIHOOD CASH

Bushenyi police have arrested and detained two women for stealing 1.65 million meant for youth livelihood project.
The women are Rabecca Natuhwera, the chairperson of Nyambirizi Women Piggery Female Group based in Bwera parish in Kyeizooba sub-county and another is Evas Natukwatsa the treasurer of the above group.
According to the coordinator of Youth livelihood project in Bushenyi district Ms Faith Betega, the group was given 8.1million this financial year and 6.3m was used to buy piglets for the group which are currently doing well however the arrested members, without authorization from members went to the bank and withdrew 1.65millions and shared it.
After members learnt that their treasurer and chairperson used their money, they informed the coordinator who swung into action and coordinated with the police who arrested the two today June 06, 2017.
The women, one with a very young child are currently being held at Bushenyi police station. The Regional police spokesperson Martial Tumusiime told www.mknewslink.com editor that investigations into the case have commenced and the two women will be taken to court soon.
