CAMPAIGN FINANCING LAW: KABALE RESIDENTS AFFIRM IT

enact Election financing law.
Election finance law is aimed at regulating politicians from dishing
out lot of money during campaigns that later affects the country’s
economy.
This was revealed yesterday during a dialogue meeting organized by Kick
Corruption out of Uganda at Kirigime guest house in Kabale
municipality.

Some of the aspirants in the recent concluded elections who include
Benson Ainebyoona from Kamwezi sub county, Pius Rwakimari from
Kyanamira Sub County, Evas Mugabi from Northern division among others
said that the law was overdue.
Monitoring (ACFIM) Eddy Kayinda said that they want the law passed to
have leveled ground ahead of next elections.
He also revealed that in the recent concluded elections, presidential
and parliamentary aspirants spent 2.4 trillion shillings in the
electoral process.
The Kabale district speaker Loy Zikampereza accused government leaders
for spending a lot of money during elections which has led to
increased prices of products.
