PANIC AS MASINDI RESIDENT DIES VOMITING BLOOD

There is panic and fear in Masindi district after a resident died vomiting blood.
Mr. Stephen Mugenyi died on Sunday evening at Hoima Regional Referral Hospital.
The deceased was a resident of Kyatwenge Village in Pakanyi Sub County Buruli Constituency Masindi District.
Mr. Moses Kyahurwa the area chairperson asked for public calmness and advised the public to avoid congested places as they wait for the results from the health experts.
He however said that Mugenyi’s relatives disclosed that he {Mugenyi} has been battling with ulcers.
The Masindi District Acting Health Officer Dr. Jino Abiriga said that the deceased was last week admitted at Masindi District General Hospital and diagnosed with ulcers.
”Mugenyi started vomiting blood at Masindi district general hospital last week and was rushed to Hoima Region where he passed on last evening,” he said.
The health expert refuted the allegations of Ebola outbreak in the district saying that they are waiting for samples collected from the corpse.
”We are waiting for samples taken to Uganda Virus Research Institute, but the deceased has been battling with ulcers,” he said.
