TWO CLEANERS CAUGHT RED HANDED WITH OXYGEN CONCENTRATOR STOLEN FROM MBARARA REFERRAL HOSPITAL

Police in Mbarara city have in detention two male cleaners who were found in possession of an oxygen concentrator stolen from Mbarara regional referral hospital.
The two; Julius Bayizire and Didas Twesigye ,both cleaners at the facility were arrested following a tip off from a neighbor across Mbarara Referral Hospital perimeter wall who saw one of the suspects offloading an oxygen concentrator from a waste container to the incinerator.
The whistle blower identified as Gerivazio Owoyesigire a charcoal dealer in Taso Village told this reporter that he immediately informed Joram Musanyufu the head of Cleaners at Mbarara referral hospital visited the scene with hospital security and recovered the concentrator.
Immediately, they apprehended the Julius Bayizire who later confessed to have had an accomplice Didas Twesigye.
The hospital through the public relations officer called police who picked suspects for safe custody.
Dr. Francis Oriokot the hospital deputy director condemned the incident of saying this act could have endangered lives of many patients in the Toto ward where the concentrator had been stolen.
Halson Kagure the Mbarara Referral Hospital Public Relations Officer said that the suspect will avail police with information in regards to the destination of the equipment.
Suspects are currently detained at Mbarara Central Police for interrogation pending trial in courts of law.
