TWO ARRESTED OVER WOMAN’S MURDER IN KABALE

Police in Kabale are holding two suspects; man and woman on the allegations of killing a 50 year woman.
Kigezi Regional police spokesperson Elly Maate identified the deceased as Keredonia Orikiriza aged 57 years, a casual worker in Rwakaraba ‘B’ cell, Kijuguta ward, northern division Kabale district.
Maate told the press that the deceased was on the 17/03/2023 at around 2100/c in Moses’ bar drinking together with the two suspects identified as Chance Judith and Charles Tinkamubwine all residents of above mentioned.
At the time of leaving the bar, she left with Charles but she never reached her to home and when Charles was asked the whereabouts of the said deceased, he said that he separated with her in the bar and everyone took his/her own direction.
Maate added that a search for the deceased commenced until the 21/03/2022 when a report of disappearance was registered vide SD ref: 66/21/03/2023.
On the 23/03/2022, the chairperson LC1 Byamukama Nicholas of above village arrested Charles and handed him over to police, to assist in investigations as tracing for the deceased was still going on.
On the 24/03/2022 at around 1600/c, the dead body of Orikiriza was found in the bush covered with dry grass, around thirty meters away from Charles’ residence, according to Maate.
The police PRO told media that the scene was visited by Homicide team, photos taken and witnesses’ statements recorded and the Body conveyed to Kabale regional referral hospital mortuary for postmortem.
