In Kabale—

Police in Kabale are holding a 42-year-old man over the murder of his neighbor.

Elly Maate the Kigezi region Police spokesman has identified the suspect as Muhwezi Justus, a resident of Rubira village, Katokye parish Kyanamira sub county Kabale district.

Muhwezi is being held in connection to the murder of Kukundakwe Papius 31 a resident of the same village

Maate explained that the deceased and the suspect are cousin brothers and they stay in the same locality with their houses being about 30 meters apart.

It is alleged that on the 14/Nov. /2021 at around 8:30PM the deceased went to get his cow which was grazing just next to the suspects’ house.

Upon hearing sound from outside his house the suspect who thought had been attacked grabbed a machete, rushed outside his house and hacked Kukundakwe Papius whom he suspected was his attacker.

Maate said that the Scene was visited by a team of police officers who took photographs and conveyed the body to Kabale referral hospital mortuary for postmortem.

The suspect was arrested and is currently in police custody as inquiries are still at hand to ascertain the motive of the suspect

Police in Rukungiri are hunting for a woman who grievously cut off her husband’s private parts.

The suspect Kobusingye Milly 40 is a resident of of Bikurungu town cell, Central Ward, Bikurungu town council in Rukungiri district for

Elly Maate the Kigezi region Police spokesman said Tugumisiriza Benon aged around 45 years, a business man, in the same area recently got involved  in domestic quarrel with his wife Kobusingye following allegations that he had married a second wife.

As the victim was sleeping, Tuesday night, the suspect attacked him, cut the private parts and took off with them to a yet unknown destination.

Maate explained that the crime scene was visited by the area Police from Bikurungu upon receiving information and managed to recover an Exhibit of a knife with blood stains from the couple’s bed room

Police also recorded Statements from the children of the couple

The hunt for the suspect who is still in hiding is going on.

In Kisoro—-

Kisoro lovers who were filmed having sex alongside the road have been handed a 2 and half year imprisonment over indecent practice.

The duo has been convicted by the Magistrates Court at Kisoro.

The Office of the Director of Public Prosecutions preferred the charge of indecent practice against the duo.

Prosecution told court that Paskali Hafashimana and Colodina Muhawimana Mukamulenzi on the 2^nd November 2021 at about 5:00 pm along Kisoro Road in Kisoro Municipality in Kisoro District performed a sexual act, an act of gross indecency in public.

The duo appeared in court yesterday for a plea with Peter Muhendo Peter as the Prosecutor and His Worship Fred Gidudu as the trial magistrate.

The two pleaded guilty to the charge and were sentenced to 30 months in prison.

In Rwampara—-

Rwampara District RDC Emmy Katera Turyabagyenyi has ordered for immediate arrest of; Rwampara district and Rugando Community Development Officers over failure to account for UWEP and Youth livelihood program funds.

The RDC together with Rwampara social services committee, were yesterday during the  monitoring  shocked to find out that there are ghost youth groups in Lugando Sub County.

The RDC further stressed that they are these ghosts groups that were allocated funds by the both District and sub county CDOs.

Kateera noted that people who received money lacked guidance and sensitization on how to use the funds but they rather used it luxuriously.

He said that almost 100 million shillings is still unaccounted for by the District Community Development Officer and his counterpart of Lugando Sub County.

However, Musiime Lemegio, Rwampara District Community Development Officer told the press that most of the  youth groups who received the funds invested it in other programs.

He denied allegations by the RDC that the youth lacked guidance adding that as the district they brought a team of procurement officers who sensitized the youth on how to use the funds.

He further blamed extension workers and Community Development Officer on the Sub county’ level for failure to follow up the funds on the ground.

In Kampala—

Kabalega motor rally losers can’t stomach fact that Rajiv Ruparelia, a crowned champion outwitted them.

They have since resorted to engineering malicious campaign to soil his name.

Those at the vanguard of denting the new champion in motorsport are Ronald Sebuguzi and Duncan Mubiru alias Kikankane.

Rajiv exuded an exceptional performance by keeping within the top times of the event.

Giants Sebuguzi and Kikankane however, have never settled from the time Rajiv was announced winner.

They also attempted to block his victory during the event by petitioning the Clerk of the Course (COC) but were late as the law stipulates.

The ‘wounded’ pair is determined to malign the young rally ace

However, the COC Katende Mukiibi’s report clearly ratifies Rajiv’s victory and explains deeply the circumstances why Kikankane and Sebuguzi’s complaint was dust binned after failing to provide evidence as the law requires and also having been raised 30 minutes past time.

“No protests were received. The Crew of Ronald Ssebuguzi / Anthony Mugambwa and the Crew of Duncan Mubiru / Musa Nsubuga attempted to lodge protests at 19:31 hours. Having posted the provisional results at 18:40hrs and the same being signed at 19:28hrs I decline to receive the proposed protests since they were out of the stipulated 30 minutes from the time of posting provisional results,” the COC report reads.

In fining Rajiv’s crew shs 500,000 on grounds of infringement, Mr Katende admits that imposing a penalty was a huge mistake and “shouldn’t have happened” and must be “refunded.”

“In error, Crew No. 62 was fined of UGX 500,0001= (receipted on FMU receipt No. 025) This I own as having been a mistake and should not have happened. I therefore request the organizing club to liaise with FMU to ensure the crew is refunded the same,” the report adds.

In his report, Mr Katende expressly states that whereas Sebuguzi and Duncan approached him lodging protests against Rajiv, they didn’t have evidence.

“I offered them to provide evidence which up to the end of the event was not delivered. Based on the control report and lack of further evidence of witnesses, I could not place the responsibility of the delay entirely on the crews since it was acting under instruction and supervision of the safety marshal.”

In Rukiga—

Police in Rukiga are investigating circumstances under which a 59 year old woman was chopped into pieces.

The deceased Susan Tumwebaze a resident of Kabimbiri cell,Kyerero parish Bukinda sub county Rukiga district was found lying dead in a pool of blood near her bathing shelter.

According to Elly Maate the Kigezi region police mouthpiece, it is alleged that Tumwebaze who was first seen by her son at around 2000 hours on the 04^th Nov.2021 was killed by her lover Christopher Eliphaz.

Sources told www.mknewslink.com that Tumwebaze befriended Christopher who helped her construct a house where the two have been living for some time but they later developed a misunderstanding and Eliphaz was kicked out of the house.

He did not take it easy as he kept coming back but with difficulty because Tumwebaze would chase him away.

Police immediately visited the scene, and postmortem was done yesterday morning by the surgeon

No arrests has so far been made but inquiries are on to have the suspected culprit apprehended.

In Kabale—

High Court in Kabale on Monday dismissed the election petition filed by the Dr. Protazio Begumisa against the Ndorwa East Member of Parliament Wilfred Niwagaba.

Begumisa, who was the NRM flag bearer garnered 15, 826 votes during the January parliamentary elections, losing narrowly to independent candidate Niwagaba who managed 15,962 votes.

Through his lawyers of Muhangi Justus and Partners’ Advocates, he petitioned high court seeking nullification of Niwagaba’s victory on grounds of vote rigging, vote bribery and harassing his agents.

Begumisa also claimed in court that Niwagaba connived with police officers who had been deployed in Ndorwa East to rig his victory.

But in his judgement, Justice Odoki dismissed Begumisa’s petition with costs stating that he (did not make out any case for his prayer that a vote recount should be ordered.

Odoki also noted that the petitioner failed to prove to the satisfaction of the court all the grounds of the petition and Begumisa did not provide cogent evidence of harassment, violence and intimidation during the voting day.

While speaking to our reporter after the judgment Begumisa confirmed to have received a copy of the judgment not in his favor but did not add more.

However, Niwagaba who is also the Shadow attorney generals said that he is happy about the court decision but also as a trained advocate, he knew that he would win the case because he got the majority votes with no irregularity.

In Bushenyi—

Bushenyi district council has sorted out thorny issue of the district service commission which had brought divisions within the council.

The agreement was reached at today 1^st Nov.2021in an emergency council meeting which sat at the district headquarters presided over by the district speaker Douglas Mucunguzi.

In a council that sat about one and a half months ago, the three names of Scholastic Nyagambaki the chairperson, Eldard Muhangisa and Eldard Kamuza were approved by the district council and sent to Public Service Commission.

When the names reached there, the Public service Commission approved two Muhangisa and Kamuza but refused Ndyagambaki as the chairperson on grounds that she was representing urban authority thus could not hold two positions.

The district council sat on Thursday but failed to agree and adjourned the meeting to today 1^st Nov.2021.

The chairman Jaffari Bassajabalaba corrected errors where by Ndyagambaki represented Kyamuhunga sub county whereas Kamuza represented urban Authority.

The council enormously accepted chairman Jaffari’s proposal, the names were passed and will be sent to Public Service Commission soonest.

In an interview with journalists in his office, chairman Jaffari hailed the district council for passing the names enormously which will help the people of Bushenyi to get jobs.

In Ntungamo—-

Police in Ntungamo are holding three health workers for selling COVID 19 vaccines and two officials from the procurement office over theft of laptops and other office gadgets.

The three health workers whose names are withheld not to jeopardize the investigations were picked from Rubaare health Centre IV Rubaare town council on allegations that they stole COVID 19 vaccines and sold them to the public.

The Resident District Commissioner RDC David Kaboyo told www.mknewslink.com that investigations in the two matters are ongoing.

The district chairman Samuel Mucunguzi Rwakigoba   noted that this is not the first time the district properties have been stolen; In Itojo a grounded health car was stolen.

He added that they decided to apprehend the two officials from the procurement office after the theft of the gadgets since their office has been in a fraud scandal.

Meanwhile, the three health workers are expected to appear before court today at Ntungamo court in Ntungamo district.

In Bushenyi—

The Bishop of west Ankole diocese Rt. Rev. Johnson Twinomujuni has suspended a female Reverend for producing a child from a Christian instead of her husband.

According to credible sources from the mighty diocese, the husband of the Reverend complained to Bishop Johnson that the child in his home, is not his but for a Christian.

The Bishop swung into action and suspended the female Reverend immediately. This is now a talk of the whole diocese and outside.

The affected Reverend is called Winfred Batungire. She has been a curate at Rwebitunda COU in Rucence parish, Katerera archdeaconry in Rubirizi district.
