BUSHENYI: ODO TAYEBWA CRIES MORE, LOSES ELECTION PETITION AGAINST KABURA

High court in Mbarara has today dismissed with costs the electoral petition filed by FDC’S Odo Tayebwa against Bushenyi-ishaka municipality MP Derrick Kabura.
Odo Tayebwa alleged that there were electoral abnormalities such as bribery, voter intimidation, and destruction of Oddo Tayebwa’s posters among others.
In his ruling that was read by the acting deputy registrar Samuel Twakire Justice Moses Kawumi dismissed Odo’s petition after the court found out that Derrick Kabura didn’t not bring street lights during election time as claimed by Oddo’s lawyers of Kanduho and co.advocates.
Speaking to journalists after the court session Odo Tayebwa said that he is going to appeal in the court of appeal as he was not contented with the Court ruling.
Tayebwa was defeated in the 14th. January .2021 parliamentary polls after he collected 5.898 votes against Derrick’s 8.199 votes; Others in the race were Yedidia Nyakahangura of ANT who got 734 votes , Kenneth Akanduhura independent 166 votes , Elly Ahabwe Rukira independent 47 votes , Nasser Nduhukire independent 13 votes.
