Parents have been challenge to value the visiting days in schools.

The challenge was made by Steven Kangwagye the Member of Parliament for Bukanga County in Isingiro district.

He said that visiting days are important as they bring together parents, students and teachers to share on the academics and discipline of the children at school.

He made this remark during the thanksgiving ceremony of Kigaragara Vocational Secondary School upon their success in the last years UCE examinations making it the first school in the whole district.

Hon. Kangwagye pledged 7 million to complete the construction of two classrooms block.

In his remark the Head teacher Kigaragara Vocational Secondary School Julius Begumya said that the only challenge at school is lack of classrooms to accommodate a big number of students they have.

He thus called upon the government, the well-wishers to intervene and assist the school

A total of 19 million were collected towards the construction of two class rooms block.

National water and Sewerage corporations has dragged Philip Murwani to the Civil Division of the High Court in Kampala over defamatory whats app posts linking its managing director to funding political activities.
According to an affidavit dated 15th March 2019 filed to the High Court Civil Division, National water and Sewerage corporations claims that in or around the month of February this year, Murwani posted a message on the whats app group Make Bushenyi greater Again (MBGA) dominantly constituted by people from Bushenyi region inviting members of the group for a function allegedly to launch a new party that he called a party for diversion or divisionism and abuse of National water resources.

It also claims that on the same date, Murwani further circulated malicious posts insinuating that NWSC and its managing director Eng. Dr. Silver Mugisha were funding political parties whereas at all times he was aware that entity and its managing director are not involved in any political activities.
Murwani is also accused of posting in the same whats app group indicating that the head of state needed to recruit another managing director as the entity had been infiltrated by the opposition loosely referred to as Kawukuumi.
Through its lawyers M/S MMark Advocates, the entity wants a permanent injunction restraining Mulwani from making any further posts demeaning the entity or any of its staff and pay costs of the suit.
Court is yet to Summon Murwani to file a defense over the said allegations.

Masheruka town council Sheema district alleged corrupt officials on 21st March 2019 faced it rough at the hands of the RDC Frank Kyereere.
The officials in question include Dianah Namara Town Clerk, Tugume Charles Nkuruho the Mayor, Byaruhanga Tarsis Town council engineer and Karingo Mustafa the accountant.
According to Tumusiime Julius Nyakambu ward councillor also the chairperson works committee Masheruka town council, on 2nd January 2019 got 30 million shillings for roads which include Kitookye – Masheruka, Nyakambu – Ruyonza, Katooma – Kanyeganyegye, but up to now ,some roads have not been worked on and those claimed to have been worked on were faked.
When asked by the RDC to give accountability, the town clerk Dianah said that they used 18 millions and that they have 10 millions on the town council’s bank account, but failed to present the bank documents.
The Engineer claimed that the grader got mechanic problem and they had to borrow one from Mbarara local government which took a lot of money.
However the officials could not reveal where the money meant for buying murram was and the exact bank balance which forced RDC to order town clerk and her colleagues to present those documents within two days.
The mayor Charles Tugume Nkuruho was tasked to account for 1.64 million which Kellen Karyamarwaki chairperson finance committee Masheruka town council said they collected from villages to build a public toilet in Kanyeganyegye town.
Nkuruho replied that they paid a debt of 800000 which was on their neck and used the rest to develop the town council, but Atuhaire Alex the assistant accountant said that they have 1.64 million shillings in their safe assuring the RDC that he had the keys in case he wanted to confirm.
However when asked to present the keys, Alex said that the money was that morning taken by the accountant Mustafa Karingo that therefore there was no money.
This contradiction between the mayor and accountant annoyed RDC and Councilors who ordered them to sit in a car so that they could take them to police.
The town clerk requested the RDC not to arrest them; she entered into a room with the accountant and in few minutes they came out with money.
It was also discovered that the biggest part out of 76 million shillings Masheruka Town council works department gets every year ends in few individual’s stomachs since there is no work done and no balance of un used money nor clear documents showing how money was spent.

Moslems in Sheema have started building hospital in order to improve on health standards of the community and create employment.
According to Sheema District Khad Sheikh Abdumajidu Kamara, their hospital will be having both out and in patients, maternity ward, laboratory, counseling and guidance plus many others.
He said that even though it is on Moslem faith, it won’t segregate on whom to get services saying that all religious faith will be allowed to get services plus jobs so long as one has appropriate documents.
He advised the community that although they are constructing the hospital, they should keep proper hygiene in their homes.
He said that many homes are spending too much money in hospitals on diseases that are caused by poor hygiene in their homes.
He thanked President Yoweri Kaguta Museveni for giving them a 100 million shillings which they are now using to build the magnificent hospital in Kabwohe town Sheema district.

The Bushenyi district deputy Chief Administrative Officer Ms Edith Turyasasirwa has warned district extension workers not to park at bars or carry prostitutes and girlfriends on motorcycles that were given to them yesterday at Bushenyi headquarter.
Ms Edith noted that she will go on radios around and give out her personal number so that whoever sees a motorcycle parked at a lodge or carrying girl calls her then she takes action.
The deputy CAO said this yesterday afternoon during the handover of 11 motorcycles and a double cabin vehicle to the extension workers and the district production department.

She warned that any worker who loses a motorcycle will be made to replace it noting that after all she has warned them prior against ills that can led to loss of these motorcycles.
The district chairman Jaffari Bassajabalaba also advised the workers to use the motorcycles professionally.
He told them to improve on service delivery since they have been facilitated with transport which has been a problem in their sub counties.

Emmanuel Byamugisha Sentaro, the Kabale Municipality Mayor has reaffirmed he is no longer interested in the opposition Forum for Democratic Change (FDC) affairs.
The mayor said that he was hounded from the party by its leaders, and has no intention of going back.
I am now independent; those people chased me in broad daylight. I am not their member at all and I will not go back; Id rather stay where I am, working with both the NRM and the FDC, he said.
Byamugisha, who formally served as FDCs Secretary General in Kabale district, made the comments days after Prime Minister Dr Ruhakana Rugunda said he was working to pull him into the NRM party.
The mayor however, dismissed the allegations that he has been bought off by the ruling party.
He said these rumors were being peddled by his political enemies such as Richard Muhanguzi the former Kabale Municipal Speaker and current Kabale FDC secretary general.
You cannot be the FDC secretary general and know the inner workings of government, he said.
Byamugisha emphasized that he has not yet crossed to NRM and that all his focus is now on working for the people of Kabale.
On his meetings with Prime Minister Rugunda, Byamugisha said that these are always about issues of development of Kabale.
Byamugisha contested in 2016 and won the Kabale Mayoral seat on an independent ticket, after disputing the FDC Primaries which he said were rigged by the then incumbent mayor Dr Pius Ruhemurana.

Drama ensued at Kashozi church of Uganda in eastern division Rukungiri municipality on Sunday 10th March 2019, when the lay reader Stephen Asiimwe left the Christians in church amidst the prayers.
It all started on Feb. 24th 2019 when Christians accused Rauben Turyahikayo the head of laity of writing a letter inviting the North Kigezi diocesan Bishop Benon Magezi to lay a foundation stone at the church without the consent of the Christians.
Christians also accuse the church leaders for mishandling church funds, disrespect, conducting secret night meetings, untimely changing of church administrators among others.
They also said that since Steven Asiimwe took over as the lay reader and the appointment of Turyahikayo as the head of laity, divisions have emerged in the church some Christians have since abandoned and boycotted church arrangements.
Efforts to get a comment from Asiimwe were futile since he refused to comment on the allegations leveled against him.
However Turyahikayo noted that Kweshumbire, the former fathers union leader is behind all this because he mobilized Christians to demonstrate and disrupt yesterdays church service
Turyahikayo revealed that the issues started a few months ago when Allen Biryaija and Charles Kweshumbire mothers union and fathers union leaders respectively were removed from the church leadership un willingly.
This is not the first time Christians are turning rowdy against their leadership in North Kigezi diocese, last month Christians at Kyatoko Church of Uganda were at loggerheads with their parish priest Rev. Julius Nuwagaba accusing him of spearheading the transfer of their lay reader Norah Ntegyereize whom they claimed had boosted the development of their church.

In Kagadi
Ministry of Education and Sports with support from UNICEF has given hearing aids to 38 learners with hearing impairments at Bishop Rwakaikara primary school in Kagadi town.
According to the education officer in charge for special needs in Kagadi district, Fred Twinomujuni, 3 out of 38children received treatment last year in Fort portal, Kabarole district.
Twinomujuni said that the exercise fulfills the objective of inclusive education, which the ministry is trying to formulate into a policy.
The Head teacher Bishop Rwakaikara Primary school Rev. Francis Mugisa Atwooki, said that the recipients of the hearing aids have to undergo lessons to learn how to speak in their mother tongue plus English since they couldn’t listen and understand the languages.
Mugisa is optimistic that the school will start teaching children with the hearing aids on how to read and write.
He said each hearing aid, cost 1m shillings.
Interestingly, under the guidance of their instructor, some of the Beneficiaries started to speak, though not clearly because it was their first time to hear and listen

The minister for presidency Ester Mbayo has vowed to take tough action against Resident district commissioners (RDCs) involving themselves in land grabbing.
Mbayo said that RDCs and other leaders at different levels of leadership should get contented with what they have and save the country from corrupt tendencies.
She said that the bad deeds committed by RDCs are negatively reflected on the president and this makes the political environment difficult for him as he attempts to correct the situation.
The minister was speaking at lake view resort hotel, during a meeting convened to update local leaders in western region on the progress of the presidential manifesto implementation.
She urged them to go back to the drawing board and relay information of what government has done for the people to counter the negative information spread by opposition
Wills Bashasha the director manifesto implementation unit in the office of the president said that Lack of coordination between the centre and the local government tends to compromise the level of quality of government projects because supervision is limited to the centre which is not near where such projects are implemented.

In Masindi
A 10 year old pupil and a bodaboda cyclist have died following a nasty accident which occurred at Miirya cell Kigulya division Masindi Muncipality along Masindi port road.
According to the Officer in charge of traffic Masindi district Eric Sendegeya, the accident happened in the morning when a vehicle registration No. UAA 425N which was coming from Masindi town rammed into a bodaboda rider who was carrying two school going children and a woman. The Bodaboda rider was coming from the opposite side.
Sendegeya added that according to the eye witness, the vehicle which was over speeding hit a pot hole and lost control hence knocking the bodaboda rider.
He explained that the bodaboda rider identified as Patrick Nyangabyaki 35 died on spot while a pupil identified as Abdu Kateeba 10 died at Masindi Kitara medical centre while the other two who were on the motorcycle are hospitalized in the critical condition.
He added that the driver of the vehicle took off and investigation have commenced.
By press time the body of Patrick Nyangabyaki had been handed over to the relative for burial in Kihamya cell Kigulya Division Masindi municipality.
