At 10:30am Deo Nziyimana the deputy registrar of the court of appeal read the judgment on behalf of the three justices; Richard Butera, Egonda Ntende and Owiny Odolo.
Martial Andrew lost on two grounds; Bribery and defamation. The three justices therefore declared Igara East parliamentary seat vacant and ordered for new elections within three months as the law stipulates.
Immediately after reading the judgment, Igara East voters went on the streets of the constituency and Bushenyi-Ishaka towns and started jubilating, riding and driving vehicles at very high speed.
According to the law, court of appeal is the last appellant court for election petitions. Martial cannot appeal in the next court.
