EBOLA VIRUS: KANUNGU RESIDENTS ASKED TO STAY VIGILANT

Residents of Kanungu district have been put on Ebola alert following the confirmation of the highly contagious hemorrhagic fever in the country.
The Resident District Commissioner, Kanungu Hajj Shafic Sekandi has asked people there to be extra careful while dealing with the Congolese coming in Kanungu.
He also said for this reasons, traders who cross to DR Congo should either stop or get rid of associating with people suspected to be victims of Ebola.
Sekandi was speaking during an impromptu meeting held in the district Council hall attended by district health workers and political leaders.
He revealed that about 40,000 Congolese visit the district per week, to attend events such as parties, burials, churches services and trading among others.
According to Sekandi, there is a suspected case of Ebola in Munyagwa cell in Butogota Sub County.
