FDC deputy secretary for international and regional affairs James Birungi Ozo has resigned and crossed to NRM.
Ozo, also the coordinator of peoples Government in Tooro region and FDC district chairman Kamwenge defected with over fifty FDC supporters in the district.
Ozo says his departure follows pressure mounted on him by the people of Kamwenge who had reached the level of isolating him because of subscribing to a different political party.
He promised to respect and promote NRM party values where he also asked for good guidance in his new political journey.
He was received by Major Gen. Kahinda Otafire the minister of Justice and constitutional affairs who said that his departure will symbolize what he called irreconcilable contradictions within opposition groups and urged NRM supporters to work with them very well for the betterment of the area.
Commenting on the recent people power team launched by Kyadondo east MP Robert Kyagulanyi Ssentamu to spearhead mobilization activities as the country heads towards the 2021 presidential elections, Otafire linked the team to Alliance for National Transformation (ANT) party for reasons he didn’t disclose.
