In Fort Portal city—-
Fear and agony have engulfed residents of Kabarole district after a third person was killed by an elephant in Busoro Sub County Kabarole District in less than four months.
Sunday Robert Isabarongo a resident in Nyabusenyi Hakibira Village Busoro Sub County met his death on Monday night as he was guarding his garden against elephant invasion.
Catherine Kasemire a daughter to the deceased told www.mknewslink.com that his father was in company of colleagues chasing the elephants and in the course of chasing, one elephant crushed and killed him instantly.
Moses Magezi a resident in the same area said that elephants have terrorized the area for long, which has left residents in famine and total poverty.
The RDC Kabarole district Julian Ayesiga Sarah promised to talk to authorities but asked the residents to remain calm as grievances will soon be worked upon.
Efforts to get the comment from the UWA Kibaale National Park Warden were futile as they couldn’t pick our repeated calls.
