The loser in Fort portal tourism city mayoral race Rev. Willy Kintu Muhanga has shown his dissatisfaction with the electoral commission on the way they printed out the ballot papers.
Muhanga who is the incumbent says that the ballot papers did not show the real image and details of the candidate which caused confusion among voters.
According to Muhanga, the electoral commission asked him to present his profile during nomination day of which he did but was surprised when he found that they presented what was not given.
Muhanga claims that most of his supporters were complaining that the picture they found on the ballot paper was not what they expected because they expected him to be wearing a collar which was not the case.
One of the electorates Miss Komuhangi Irene, Rev. Muhanga’s supporter narrated that she was forced to leave her business to help her mum cast a vote because her mum got confused after failing to locate a collar on all of the candidates who were on the ballot.
Rev. Willy Kintu Muhanga was defeated by Mr. Asaba Edison Ruyonga, the former Fort Portal municipality mayor whom he had won in the 2016 elections after Ruyonga pulled 15312 votes while Kintu Muhanga got 9,699 votes.
The other contestants in the race were independent candidates Richard Muganzi who garnered 275 votes, Ivan Basaija who polled 135 votes, ANT party candidate; Robert Bwango got only 93 votes.
