HOIMA DISTRICT BOSS ARRESTED ON ORDERS OF COL. NAKALEMA, TO RE-APPEAR IN COURT ON 13TH OCT

The Hoima District Chairman, Kadiri Kirungi was on Tuesday arrested, handcuffed and arraigned before the Hoima Chief Magistrate’s court before he was released on bail on charges of conspiracy to commit a felony.
Kirungi was arrested with the other three colleagues on the district Executive Committee including Jackson Mulindambura, the District Secretary for Production, Benson Chiche, the district vice chairman cum councilor for Buhanika sub-county and Geoffrey Komakech – the Secretary for Finance as well as district councilor for Buseruka sub-county.
The three were arrested from the district headquarters after it emerged that they misused the district road equipment that they allegedly hired out to a private individual in Kiryandongo district.
Appearing before the Chief Magistrate, James Opiyo, the trio denied the allegations.
Represented by Chris Mwebaze of Mwebaze & Co Advocates, the three were later released on bond with each ordered to pay Sh1m cash besides depositing their original national identity cards to court.
The three will reappear before court on October 13, 2021, for further mention of their case.
