HOIMA: PM NABBANJA OFFICIALLY BANS FEES IN GOV’T PRIMARY SCHOOLS

The Prime Minister of Uganda Robinah Nabbanja has banned the collection of fees from learners in government learning institutions to encourage more children to stay in School.
Rt Hon Robinah Nabbanja revealed collection of fees has been banned immediately and those head teachers who want to charge school fees should go and start their own private schools.
“NRM government has built many schools but people are charging fees, I’m told here in Hoima children are not completing education cycles, now using the authority given to me by the president, we have banned the issues of charging school fees”, Nabbanja said.
She revealed government allowed existance of private schools therefore school heads should not continue charging fees in government schools.
She made the remarks while addressing leaders of the national resistance movement (NRM) party during the Hoima district expanded conference at Dwooli primary school Kitoba subcounty on Thursday.
