Ibanda RDC Ms. Mary Bashongoka Kamaduuka has challenged the youths to take up business courses if they are to tackle unemployment issues in Uganda.
Ms. Mary Bashongoka was speaking at 7th graduation ceremony for Alliance Vocational School Ibanda held at Resort hotel in the municipality.
“I urge the school management to continue equipping students with entrepreneurial skills because it is currently the only way to address the challenge of unemployment in the country,” Ms. Kamaduuka says.
Over 344 graduands were awarded with certificates and Diplomas in different courses of; secretarial studies, journalism, catering, Block Laying and Concrete Practice, accountancy among others.
“My advice to graduands is; you should always seek for guidance from people who are above you and behave responsibly,” the School Principal, Ozbert Ahebwa advised the graduands.
He warned them against being over ambitious with lust for wealth, in a very short time but rather they should be transparent, honest and respectful.
He however noted that they currently need a library extension plus a school van to transport staff.
