KABALE CRIME AT HIGH RATE, LEADERS DEMAND POLICE POST

Local leaders in Rushaki ward of Southern division Kabale municipality are demanding for a police post as a way of reducing on the increased criminalities in their area.
Leaders led by the Rushaki Local council III councilor Yusuf Twegumye who also doubles as the Southern division vice chairperson and Jack Kiiza Robinson the Rushaki ward chairman local council II say that there is a need for a nearby police post in their ward to help in strengthening of the security following the increased crimes of murder and theft in Rushaki ward.
They say that most in the area has always been waylaid by unknown people which needs daily operations by security people in order to curb the problem.
They also claim that Rushaki is highly populated and occupied by many business people who need extra security to safe guard their property and lives of people in the area. Leaders say that they have already gotten a place where to locate the police post.
The Kabale district Police Commander Geoffrey Kaheebwa says that they would be given the police post if they had a place where the police post would be located.
He also says that currently Kabale police station is unable to divide part of its staff because the man power at the station is not enough to be divided to create other police posts in villages.
However, Kaheebwa promised to consider when government increase on their staff to enable them divide it and create other police posts in villages.
